Guidance Class

“Most people are mirrors, reflecting the moods and emotions of the times; few are windows, bringing light to bear on the dark corners where troubles fester. The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows.” – Sydney J. Harris

Guidance is an elective class in the Primary that is taught every other week for 40 minutes with each class and grade.

During the 2018-2019 school year every other week Pre-K and Kindergarten classes will learn from a character education curriculum titled Adventures with Travis and Presley. Travis and his dog, Presley, empower students through teaching positive social skills and emphasizing the importance of good manners. This program contains eight different units: "Please and Thank You," "How to Deal with a Bully," "Good Teamwork," "Table Manners," "Respecting Others," "Be Polite," "It's Okay to be Different," and "Share and Take Turns."
