October Parent Newsletter
Welcome!
As I am visiting classrooms and walking through the hallways, I see such great examples of learning and outstanding teaching practices going on in the classrooms. I hope you are logging in and communicating with your child's teacher to the maximum ability. I also encourage you to talk to your child each day and ask them what they are learning and doing. Our desire is to keep you in the communication loop at the highest level. We are a team! Please contact your child's teacher or me if you have any questions at all. We are really focusing on our character piece of Great Expectations. Be sure you talk to your child about our word of the week and ask them for examples they are learning at school! We have all kinds of activities ahead such as our Red Ribbon Week, food drive, anti-bullying lessons, etc... We thank you for all of your help as we work together to engage and educate our students!

Greetings Plainview Primary Families! October is National Bully Prevention Month. Part of our bullying prevention activities will include celebrating Unity Day on October 21st by wearing orange in support of choosing kindness, acceptance, and inclusion in our school. In my classroom lessons with students, we will be exploring what bullying looks and sounds like as well as how to respond when you or someone else is being bullied. This year’s Students Against Huger Food Drive will take place October 20th – 30th. The food drive donation box will be located outside the elementary cafeteria next to the collected items goal banner. Our 2020-2021 Red Ribbon Week will take place the week of October 26th – 30th. An informational flyer regarding the week’s events will be sent home with each student the week before. There are many events and festivities going on in the month of October and I am looking to celebrating them with our Primary students!
